Pests That Can Harm Your Roof

The Third Estimate

Apr 27, 2022

Checking for pests and evidence of damage by them should be a part of your regular roof inspection.

There are many insects and animals that can cause serious harm to your roof. It is important to make certain that pest control includes checking your roof for these varmints and any signs of damage that might be caused by them.

  • Birds;

  • Ants;

  • Termites;

  • Hornets;

  • Rodents (including mice and rats);

  • Squirrels;

  • Bees

These are just a few of the creatures that can harm your home. Rodents, insects, and other furry creatures can chew through roofing material, get stuck in gutter downspouts, build nests inside your home bringing infestation and disease with them.

And once they're actually inside your residence, there is no telling what these pests will attack.

Rodents are known to chew through electrical wiring and cabling. Wondering why you're having problems with your Internet service? It could be that a mouse has partly chewed through a cable!

Termites and ants can cause irreparable structural damage if left unchecked.

Hives from bees and hornets can promote mold and other damage, as well as invite other creatures to your home.

Checking for pests and evidence of damage by them should be a part of your regular roof inspection.
